REBECCA ORMOND’S TRANS-MEDIA ART SERIES

...her work uses cutting edge technologies while making it both approachable and tactile...the handmade combines with the digital real to investigate the personal sphere.”  (Lynn Tomlinson, UFVA 2016 Official New Media Exhibition Respondent)

Seasons , Landscapes  and Habitats are a 3 part trans-media trilogy, with 3D video art installations & 2D theatrical releases.  The video art installations layer live action stereoscopic motion pictures with 3D windows that float over both 2D and 3D backgrounds, contrasting the passage of time (on the film plane X & Y axis) against space-time on the Z Axis (3D wormholes converging in front & behind the screen).  Multiple awards won.  Landscapes is currently playing at the Turtle Bay Exploration Park, in the Modern Art Gallery as part of the West Coast Biennial Exhibition.

The same source footage is re-edited  (and combined) into linear stores (both 2D and 3D versions.) for theatrical releases (Landscapes-theatrical release premiered July 2016 @

STL Showcase, where it was awarded Best Experimental Film & Best Art Direction.  The next screening is in April 2017 at the 26th Annual Arizona Int. Film Festival. )
